CRANSTON, R.I. -

An employee with a special needs school in Massachusetts was charged with possession of child pornography, Rhode Island State Police said Friday.

Eric Bean 32, of Cumberland, was arraigned in Providence District Court.

Bean was arrested and charged as a result of information state police received from the Nebraska State Patrol.

Authorities in Nebraska said Bean was transferring images of child pornography using an email account. State police traced the account to Bean's apartment on Mendon Road.

Bean is employed as a desktop support technician with the information technology department at the Judge Rotenberg Educational Center. State police said there's no evidence that indicates Bean had any inappropriate contact with children.
