Police release surveillance photos from bank robbery

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. -

Lincoln police released surveillance pictures Monday of man wanted in connection with a bank robbery.

Police said the robbery happened at about 3:55 p.m. Monday at the Bank of America branch on Smithfield Avenue.

Police said a man pulled a black handgun at a teller and demanded money. The robber fled with an undisclosed amount of money. He fled on foot heading southbound toward Pawtucket.

Police said the man is described as lighter skinned, about 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall with a slender build.

The suspect was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, gray baggy sweatpants, blue athletic sneakers, a black mask, sunglasses, and dark gloves. The suspect also had a black nylon bag slung around his neck which he used to carry the black handgun.

Lincoln police asked anyone who knows anything about the man to call them at 401-333-1111.
