Two people attacked by rabid fox in South Kingstown

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. -

South Kingstown police said a rabid fox that attacked two people was killed Wednesday.

According to the police department's Facebook page, the fox traveled from Albro Lane to the YMCA on Broad Rock Road.

Authorities said police and the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management found the animal and killed it. After it was euthanized, its body was turned over to the state health department for testing.

There was no information released about the attacks or any injuries to the victims.

Police urged anyone who came in contact with the animal to call them.
