BARRINGTON, R.I. -

Barrington police are hoping a pair of arrests will help solve reported break-ins in the area.

William Lajoie and Peter Costa, both of Fall River, were charged with receiving stolen goods and being a fugitive from justice.

On Monday, Barrington police said they received a tip from Warren police that a suspicious van with Massachusetts license plates was in the town.

An officer stopped the van and found several items that were believed to be stolen from a Swansea home that day.

Barrington police said both men have lengthy criminal records.
