BEVERLY, Mass. -

Authorities have charged a 19-year-old Beverly man with setting a fire in the city last weekend that destroyed two homes under construction and damaged eight occupied houses.

The Essex district attorney's office says Zackary Pavia is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Salem District Court.

The state Fire Marshal's office says juveniles age 15 and 17 are facing accessory and trespassing charges.

Pavia faces 10 counts of arson and other charges, including trespassing.

The fire Sunday night started in one unfinished house and spread to another house under construction. Those two homes were destroyed and eight nearby houses were damaged, one significantly.

One motor vehicle was also destroyed. No one was injured.

The Fire Marshal estimated damage at $2 million.
