Watches stolen from home of former Nortek CEO

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A dozen expensive watches and 20 pairs of cufflinks have been reported stolen from the Providence home of former Nortek chief executive Richard Bready.

Police tell the Providence Journal (http://bit.ly/1tUBeTm ) the 70-year-old Bready reported the theft on Tuesday when he discovered the items missing from a closet at his home on Irving Avenue.

According to the police report, the high-end watches included a Breitling that was one of only three existing in the world.

It was the second jewelry theft reported at Bready's home in six years. The police were called in January 2008 to investigate a theft of a large amount of jewelry from a safe.

Bready. who retired from the building products manufacturer in 2011, now serves as chairman of the Board of Trustees at Roger Williams University.
