Six Flags New England's wooden roller coaster Cyclone will be retired on Sunday.
Cyclone was first opened on June 24, 1983, and will close for good after more than 31 years.
Six Flags has invited state employees and the American Coaster Enthusiasts to take one of the coaster's final rides, beginning at noon.
The ride will also receive a send-off with a fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
Cyclone is one of two wooden coasters at Six Flags New England, with 3,400 feet of track.
Riders climb a 109-foot hill, before reaching speeds over 50 mph on the way down.
