EXETER, R.I. -

Exeter firefighters spent more than six hours, battling a brush fire not far from the Yagoo Ski area  Saturday night.

Exeter 1 fire chief David Chamberlain told NBC 10 News  the slow moving fire on Wolf Rock Road was called in around 7 p.m.. Crews didn't clear the area until after 1 a.m. Sunday.

Chief Chamberlain says between 2 and 4 acres burned.

Chamberlain added the rough terrain meant that mutual aid crews had to use ATV's to bring in additional manpower and equipment.

There were no reports of injuries.

Firefighters were supposed to return to the fire scene Sunday morning,  to check for hot spots.
