Bill would ban tobacco use in Providence city parks

Proposed legislation in Providence would prohibit smoking in city parks.

Council President Michael A. Solomon and Majority Leader Seth Yurdin are pushing to make it illegal to sell or use tobacco in a City-owned park, playground or recreational area with a $50 dollar fine.

 The regulations would apply to cigarettes, cigars, and electronic cigarettes.
