Many Fourth of July parties were postponed due to the heavy rains Friday from Hurricane Arthur.

NBC10 visited this party in the Greenville section of Smithfield where the kids in the pool were enjoying their Fourth party, one day late.

“Arthur got in the way, it was a big storm, there was a tree down so we postponed it until today,” said Kerri Lapierre of Smithfield.

Luckily, the storm came on Friday, so a lot of the region's parties, parades and other events postponed by the storm were held Saturday and Sunday.
