MARION, Mass. -

The U.S. Coast Guard was unable to bring a 66-year-old man back to life after his body was discovered in the water near Converse Point in Marion.

According to a press release from the Marion Police Department, the man's wife called the Marion Harbormasters Office at 1:00 p.m. saying her husband was in the water without a life preserver and needing to be saved. Officials were able to locate the woman and the power boat she was on soon after, which had come from Onset.

At 2:23 p.m. the man's body was recovered by boaters passing by. He was transported to Tobey Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
