Whaling ship returns to New Bedford

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. -

Billed as the 'last American whaleship,' the Charles W. Morgan will be making a stop in New Bedford this weekend.

The ship is stopping at ports throughout New England, celebrating America’s maritime heritage and ocean conservation.

The stop in New Bedford represents a trip home. The Morgan was build at the Hillman Brothers Shipyard in 1841.  She's undergone millions of dollasr in renovations over the last five years and will be open for the public to board and explore from June 28-July 6.
