Imagine you are at the beach, maybe along Rhode Island's beautiful coastline. With a new invention, you can snap a picture of the waves and include that amazing beach-y smell in your text.
The oPhone is made its debut sending the first transatlantic sent from New York to Paris this week.
Here's how it works:
Users take a picture of something, then mix and match aromas through the oPhone app. Once they get the desired smell, anything from pizza to fresh cut grass, they send the message. That smell will be recreated and spritzed out at the fellow user's base device. They'll be able to take in the aroma.
There are 356 combinations possible right now, rising to several thousand in the next year.
oPhone isn't stocked on shelves just yet. The company has launched an Indiegogo campaign. You'll be able to preorder a pair of phones for $149 until its official launch in early in April of 2015. After that, it will they'll cost you $199.
The Indiegogo campaign is looking to raise $150,000.
