Rhode Island lawmakers are taking up more than a hundred new measures.
Several bills passed Wednesday night.
The Senate passed a bill that would prevent banks from evicting people who live in foreclosed homes, until the house has been sold to a new owner.
The House passed a bill that would prevent people from using EBT cards to buy alcohol, lottery tickets, tobacco or use it at casinos and strip clubs.
They also passed raising the minimum wage by one dollar to nine dollars begging next year and calamari also passed as the states official appetizer.
