D-Day vet awarded for his service

Posted: Updated:
BROCKTON, Mass. -

Just after the 70th anniversary of D-Day, a local veteran of Normandy is being rewarded for his service.

Richard Holliver, 90, had problems with his VA-supplied hearing aids and the fit of the batteries.

Holliver contacted Beltone Hearing Aids in Brockton and spoke with the staff to see if he could find a better fit for the batteries.

Holliver's daughter visited the branch and was given new batteries at no charge.

After the staff spoke with Holliver and met his daughter, they decided that the batteries were not enough.

Mr. Holliver will be given a new set of the top of the line Beltone First hearing aids on Thursday.
