Pawtucket Police looking to hire new officers

PAWTUCKET, R.I. -

The City of Pawtucket is hiring new police officers.

The recruiting and application period runs from June 16th to August 1st, with the physical agility test scheduled for August 23rd and 24th.

The written exams are scheduled for August 30th and the oral board exams will be scheduled at a later date.

Candidates need to have a high school degree or a GED, must be age 18 or older and be a U.S. Citizen.

Candidates must also have a valid driver's license, 30 completed college credits or one year of active military service.

Pawtucket residents will receive five additional points during the testing process, but must have three years of Pawtucket residency.

Applications can be found at the City of Pawtucket or Pawtucket Police websites.

Candidates on the current eligibility list need to reapply.
