A 51-year-old South Kingstown man pleaded not guilty Thursday to social host charges.

William Mark Russo, an attorney, is accused of hosting more than 20 minors at his home on Moonstone Beach Road on May 31 in what was described by attendees as a post-prom party.

According to police, they were called to the home to assist in a medical emergency involving an 18-year-old woman. When they arrived, police said officers saw open containers of alcohol and witnessed minors acting intoxicated.

Police said Russo collected car keys from the teenagers at his home and blocked the driveway to keep the kids from leaving.

Russo was released on $1,000 personal recognizance. His next court date is July 10.

Russo told NBC 10 he had no comment.
