Police have identified a suspect in a fatal stabbing in Providence earlier this week.

Police said Wednesday they are looking for 31-year-old Leon Taylor, who allegedly stabbed David Simmons on Monday.

Police responding to reports of a fight on Dartmouth Avenue shortly before 6 p.m. found the 32-year-old Simmons, who recently moved to Providence, suffering from stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the men may have been fighting over a woman who is related to Taylor.

Police described Taylor's vehicle as a green or blue Nissan Maxima with a temporary Rhode Island license plate.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Providence Police Department.
