CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. -

Police said Tuesday they found the headless remains of several animals along the railroad tracks in Central Falls.

Police were called to the Providence-Worcester railroad tracks adjacent to 96 Blackstone St. at about 9:30 a.m. for a report of what appeared to be an animal carcass on the tracks.

Col. James Mendonca of the Central Falls Police Department said they found the decomposed remains of two goats and three chickens. The chicken heads were near the bodies of the animals, but the goat's heads were missing.

Investigators wouldn't comment on a motive. Police said they are contacting other local agencies about missing livestock.

No arrests have been made.
