Authorities on Cape Cod are asking for the public's help identifying a T-shirt on the torso of a mutilated body found at a beach in Sandwich.

Cape and Island District Attorney Michael O'Keefe said the body, which was discovered Wednesday at Town Neck Beach, had no head, arms or legs.

"The body's head was missing. Both arms were missing and both legs were missing," O'Keefe said.

O'Keefe said the remains were attached to a moving cart, wrapped in a tarp.

Investigators said the remains are from an African-American man, about 6 feet tall weighing between 220 to 230 pounds.

He said the man was wearing black sweat-type pants and a dark blue t-shirt with the name of Cranston Windustrial in Warwick. The shirt has promotional messages for the business, which O'Keefe said had been "extremely cooperative" with investigators.

O'Keefe said the company gave away thousands of the shirts, made between six and eight years ago.

"Anyone who recognizes that T-shirt or may have seen someone who fits the general physical description wearing it anywhere in the New England area, we urge that they contact police," O'Keefe said.

The company is a supplier of pipe and related materials for contractors.

A woman who answered the phone at Cranston Windustrial told NBC 10 the company really didn't know anything and don't have any further comment.

O'Keefe said the body appeared to have been brought to the site from somewhere else and investigators are trying to determine where the person may have been killed.

Anyone with information is asked to call 508-790-5799.
