New Bedford police investigating shooting

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. -

New Bedford Police are investigating after one man was shot in the area of Locust and Homer Streets Wednesday night.

Around 9:20 p.m., officers were called to the area, via 9-1-1, and a ShotSpotter activation.

Officers discovered four shell casings in the area.

Just before midnight, a 20 year old New Bedford man arrived at St. Luke's Hospital with a gunshot wound to the elbow.    

He told police he was in the area of the shooting when the shots were fired.

The man went to the hospital when his wound would not stop bleeding, was treated and released.

Anyone with information is asked to call New Bedford police.
