Police: Man killed, woman injured in Providence shooting

Davon Taylor, 20 was killed and his sister Destiny, 15, injured in a shooting Wednesday.
A shooting was reported on Wendell Street in Providence, Wednesday, May 14, 2014.
Providence police said Wednesday that a man was killed and a woman was injured in a shooting in the city's West End.
Maj. David Lapatin released the names of the victims involved. Devon Taylor, 20, of Providence was pronounced dead at Rhode Island Hospital. His younger sister Destiny Taylor, 15 was also shot. Her condition remains unknown as of Wednesday evening.
The victims were shot in a car at about 4 p.m. on Wendell Street.
The car came to rest facing the wrong way on a one-way street, and it stopped at the front end of a skid steer, a piece of construction equipment that was being used for utility work just down the street.
The back window of the car appeared to have been shot out.
Police said they were trying to track down leads.
"The medical examiner is there. He's just finishing his work. The victim was in a car. He'll be done shortly and we'll be able to continue our investigation," Providence police Maj. David Lapatin said.
