Providence ordinance seeks government transparency

Posted: Updated:

Providence city councilor Davian Sanchez has introduced an ordinance calling for more transparency in city government, and better access to public information.

Sanchez' new legislation is based on a similar bill once proposed by late Councilman Miguel Luna, that was never adopted.

The ordinance would require more public information be put on the city's website.

The city Committee on Ordinances is now reviewing the proposal.

Sanchez says he has already spoken with local organizations, to field their concerns.
