Rehoboth Police arrest motorcycle driver after chase

REHOBOTH, Mass. -

Police in Rehoboth, Massachusetts on Friday night arrested a motorcycle driver after a short chase that ended in Attleboro.

Around 6:30 p-m on Friday, Sgt. Richard Shailor of the Rehoboth Police observed a motorcycle travelling west bound on Tremont Street at a high rate of speed. He attempted to stop the motorcycle which then increased its speed and failed to stop.

After a brief pursuit into Attleboro, Sgt. Shailor was able to stop the motorcycle in the Oak Hill Trailer Park and arrest the operator.

The operator is identified as 49-year-old Richard Farrand of Plainville Massachusetts

Farrand is being charged failure to stop for police, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, speeding and several other charges.

He was booked and later released on $1000.00 cash bail. Farrand is due in Taunton District Court on Tuesday for arraignment.
