Fairhaven Police warn residents about suspicious male

Posted: Updated:
Fairhaven Police are investigating an incident in which a young boy was solicited by a man driving a truck.
The boy was walking along Harriet Street on Friday afternoon at approximately 4 p.m. when a slow moving truck pulled alongside the boy.
The driver, who was described as a heavy set, short, white male between the ages of 40 and 60, told the boy to get into the truck.
The child ran to the house of friend and called his parents.
The truck was described as a large, gray pickup and was last seen on Hill Street and Hamlet Street.
The Massachusetts State Police Air Branch searched the area with an available helicopter, but did not find a truck matching the description.
While the man did not overtly try to physically pull the child into the truck, the Fairhaven Police remain concerned and want the public to be aware of the incident.
