Six Flags opens for the season

Posted: Updated:
AGAWAM, Mass. - Six Flags New England picked a good day to open its gates for the season.
As part of opening day, Six Flags is offering a special discount of $20.14 to anybody who brings three items for the Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society.
Items needed include dry dog and cat food, cat litter, Kong rubber toys and cat toys.
A portion of each ticket sold will also benefit the Society and animals in Western Massachusetts.
The big new attraction for the season is the New England SkyScreamer, now the tallest ride at the park.
The ride rises with 40 guests on board and spins around and around at more than 35 mph.
The SkyScreamer opens in mid-May.
Six Flags is open for now on weekends from 10:30 a.m. To 8 p.m. and will also open daily from spring break from April 18th to 27th.
