Providence police seize firearms

PROVIDENCE - Providence police were able to get a number of weapons off the street with arrests this week.

During a traffic stop on Admiral Street, a patrolman seized a black Taurus 9mm handgun and ammunition. Sarunn Phan, 26, was arrested and charged with firearms violations.

During a search at 560 Prospect Street in Pawtucket, in cooperation with Pawtucket Police, Providence Police recovered a Taurus PT 940 handgun with rounds in the magazine and chamber. Jose Luis Jourdan Pastor, 39, and Carlos Irurita, 33, were arrested and charged with firearms violations.

During a patrol on Camp Street, members of the Providence Police Violent Crime Task Force arrested a juvenile, 16, and seized an America .38 revolver. The male teen was charged with firearms violations.
