Dog under quarantine after biting woman's lip off

A woman is recovering Tuesday after authorities say a pit bull bit off part of her lip.

The incident happened at a home on Salt Marsh Road in Sandwich.

The two-year-old dog was recently adopted from the Animal Rescue League in Worcester.  There is no word on what will happen to the animal.

Authorities say the 43-year-old woman was trying to kiss the dog when the animal bit her.

She was rushed to South Shore Hospital. There are no other details available on her condition.
