Woonsocket High School students to learn dangers of distracting driving

Posted: Updated:
WOONSOCKET, R.I. - On Thursday, about 500 Woonsocket High School students will be asked to sign a pledge not to text and drive.

The "It Can Wait" campaign is sponsored by the Rhode Island State Police, the state Department of Transportation and the state attorney general's office.

The presentation includes a driving simulator and a documentary on distracted driving.

Thousands of students across Rhode Island have made the same pledge, many of them before getting their driver's license.
