NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, Mass. -

A standoff between North Attleborough police and a man barricaded inside a house came to a peaceful end Monday morning.

Police, SWAT teams and K-9 units responded to the Bank Street home at about 11 p.m. Sunday. It was not immediately known why the man locked himself in the house.

At one point, the man's stepson could be heard on a public address system trying to coax the man out of the building.

The man surrendered to police early Monday and they were able to get him out of the house safely. He was being evaluated at a hospital.

The man's name has not been released.
