Woonsocket man killed in Cape crash

FALMOUTH, Mass. -

Police said a Rhode Island man has died after his pickup truck struck a tree on Cape Cod.

Police said 50-year-old Ronald Conn, of Woonsocket, died at a hospital after the crash in Falmouth at about 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Falmouth fire Lt. Bruce Girouard said the impact was on the truck's driver's side and the vehicle as wrapped around the tree. It took rescuers nearly 45 minutes to extract the driver.

Conn, the only occupant of the truck, had multiple injuries and his condition deteriorated when he was freed.

The cause remains under investigation.
