Museum gets a grant to help student program

Posted: Updated:
Some local high school students will benefit from a grant to the New Bedford Whaling Museum.

A $10,000 grant from the Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation will go towards the Museum’s Apprenticeship Program.

The program helps disadvantaged high school students from the area in school and the workplace.

In four years, the program has a 100 percent rate of graduation from participating students.

The Whaling Museum is located in the New Bedford Whaling National Historic Park at 18 Jonny Cake Hill.
