FALL RIVER, Mass. -

Fall River police said Monday they have arrested and charged a man who pepper-sprayed a woman who’s eight months pregnant.

Brandon Dunham, 22, of Fall River, was charged with assault to rob, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Police said the 22-year-old woman was treated at Charlton Memorial Hospital. They said her unborn baby appeared to be unharmed.

Police said the woman was attacked on March 10 on Durfee Street by Dunham who was apparently trying to rob her. Police said the woman told them she had withdrawn money from a bank on North Main Street about 30 minutes earlier.

Investigators said Dunham ran toward Heritage Heights after dousing the woman with pepper spray. He did not take anything from the victim.
