A former rookie Johnston police officer pleaded no contest Tuesday to willful trespass and simple assault, the attorney general's office said.

Marisa Ciccone was accused of barging into a Warwick man's home in August and demanding money over an alleged drug transaction. Police said Ciccone struck a 17-year-old girl in the face.

As part of a plea agreement, Ciccone received a one-year suspended sentence and probation. She was also ordered to have counseling for substance abuse.

Ciccone was initially charged with breaking and entering, simple assault and battery, and disorderly conduct.  She was fired from the Johnston Police Department for violating department regulations, policies and procedures.
