A Woonsocket woman who triggered a nationwide Amber Alert by allegedly taking her son from Rhode Island was granted home confinement while she awaits trial.

A Providence Superior Court clerk said Monday a judge granted 34-year-old Andria Britt home confinement. She said Britt is still being held at the Adult Correctional Institutions until details are finalized.

Police say Britt took her 6-year-old son, Daniel, From Woonsocket to Washington state in January, which was in violation of a custody order.

The boy was unharmed and is with his father in Woonsocket.

Britt faces felony child snatching charges and has pleaded not guilty.
