Fire in Providence leaves 12 people displaced

The Providence Fire Department is investigating a fire that broke out in a residence in their city early Saturday morning.

Fire crews arrived at the residence on 232 Magnolia Street just after 4 a.m. Saturday to find heavy fire in the basement of the three story house.

According to Battalion Chief William Kenyon, the crews were able to get the fire under control in about 45 minutes, but despite the rapid response eleven adults and one child have been displaced.

NBC 10 has learned that six of the eleven adults that were displaced are being assisted by the Red Cross. Fortunately no one was injured in the fire and the cause of the is still under investigation.
