Reminder: Time to set clocks ahead Sunday

Posted: Updated:
If you’re wondering when you need to change your clocks to observe the 2014 Daylight Saving Time, you will be moving your clocks ahead on Sunday, March 9th.

Most Americans will get an hour less sleep this weekend thanks to the annual shift to Daylight Saving Time.

The change officially occurs at 2 a.m. Sunday, but most people will set their clocks ahead before heading to bed Saturday night.

Residents of Hawaii, most of Arizona and some U.S. territories don't have to change since they do not observe Daylight Saving Time.

Public safety officials remind everyone that this is also a good time to put a new battery in the smoke alarm, no matter where you live.

Daylight Saving Time will end and  the clocks fall back on Nov. 2, 2014.
