PROVIDENCE -

State lawmakers are taking a look at how climate change will impact Rhode Island.

A legislative briefing on climate change, preparing for natural disasters and the economics of sustainability is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon at the Statehouse.

The event is being hosted by Rep. Arthur Handy, chairman of the House Environment and Natural Resources Committee.

It will include presentations on the way climate change is impacting the state and how energy efficiency can reduce carbon emissions.

Tuesday marks the return of lawmakers to the Statehouse following a week-long winter break.
