The state's NECAP testing results were released Thursday and Rhode Island 11th graders improved in reading and math.
According to the Department of Education, 11th graders improved by two percentage points in reading to 81 percent proficiency and two percentage points in math to 36 percent proficiency.
But students in grades 3 through 8 saw some declines in reading and math compared to last year.
