WOONSOCKET, R.I. (AP) - Voters in a legislative district in Woonsocket will soon head to the polls to settle a three-way Democratic Primary race.
Tuesday's special primary election in House District 49 features three Democrats who hope to win the House seat left vacant when former Rep. Lisa Baldelli-Hunt was elected mayor.
The candidates are Douglas Brown, Mark Chenot and Michael Morin. The general election is Feb. 25. No Republicans are running.
It's the first election in Rhode Island in which voters will be asked to show photo identification at the polls.
Voters must present a driver's license, college ID, passport or another type of government ID. Those without will be given a provisional ballot.
The voter ID law was passed in 2011 but until this year voters could present non-photo identification.
