BLACKSTONE, Mass. -

It's a tattoo that stems from a tragedy.

On Saturday at Forever Ink at 3 Main Street in Blackstone, they were raising money for the family of Kathy Salvi. The 24-year-old Woonsocket woman died three weeks after allegedly being assaulted by her boyfriend Emmanuel Algaria.

So for the month of January, Forever Ink is donating 100 percent of proceeds from certain tattoos to the Salvi family for funeral expenses and for Kathy's toddler son Davian.  Algaria is the child's father.

A "Hello Kitty" design; as well as domestic violence ribbons; are two of the specific design tattoos that have100 percent of their proceeds donated to the fund.

In addition to the select designs, Owner John Benedict and his business partner Derek Seaquist say they'll donate proceeds from any design dedicated to Kathy; they told NBC 10 "if someone comes in and wants something for her, in memory of her, whatever the proceeds from those also."

They're also selling Domestic Violence Awareness ribbons that were made to raise money and will donate a portion of their own sales for the month to the fund.

So far in four days they've raised $1,500, which is tremendous support for a family in grief, as they wait for Algaria's case to make its way through the courts, after his appearance on Friday was postponed until the end of the month.

A funeral for Catherine Salvi will be held on Sunday.
