A California-based for-profit hospital chain has completed its acquisition of two health care facilities in Northern Rhode Island.
Prime Healthcare Services said in a statement Tuesday that it has finalized the purchase of Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket and the Rehabilitation Hospital of Rhode Island in North Smithfield.
"Prime Healthcare looks forward to working with the medical staffs and employees to make these two healthcare facilities the best in Rhode Island and the nation," said Prem Reddy, chairman, president and CEO of Prime Healthcare.
Landmark President Rick Charest also commented on the completion of the sale.
"With the clinical and operational expertise and financial commitment from Prime Healthcare combined with the dedication of our employees and physicians, our facilities will be able to provide the highest quality healthcare for years to come," Charest said.
Prime Healthcare of Ontario, Calif., has 30,000 employees and operates 25 hospitals.
