Woman drives through Cape storefront

Posted: Updated:

Barnstable police say an 88 year old woman driver crashed her car through the plate glass window of a vacant Hyannis store on Saturday.

Police told the Cape Cod Times, Dorothy O'Connell first hit the back of a car, that was going through an intersection near the store.

The Barnstable woman then reportedly hit the gas, and her car jumped the curb and smashed into the storefront.

O'Connell was taken to Cape Cod Hospital for non-life threatening cuts and bruises.
