PAWTUCKET, R.I. -

Ten recruits are being sworn in as the newest members of the Pawtucket Fire Department.

Pawtucket public safety director is scheduled to swear-in the recruit at the LeFoyer Club on Saturday afternoon. Mayor Donald Grebien and Fire Chief William Sisson plan to give brief remarks.

The recruits received 16 weeks of training at the Rhode Island Fire Academy.

Six new police officers were also sworn in this month in Pawtucket. The city says three more recruits are scheduled to enter the municipal police academy in January and graduate in June to fill expected vacancies.
