A fire in an abandoned building in Woonsocket Friday night kept firefighters on scene in the cold for over two hours.
According to the Woonsocket Fire Department they responded to a call for flames showing from a vacant building at 754 Front Street came in shortly after 9 p.m. The fire was in the back of the building of what used to be a restaurant.
Firefighters were able to get the fire under control and contained to the back of the building. According to fire officials they were on scene for approximately 2.5 hours before the area was clear.
No civilians or firefighters were injured in the fire, and the Woonsocket Fire Department told NBC 10 that the cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the State Fire Marshall's Office.
