Christmas tree recycling dates vary across state

Posted: Updated:

Christmas is over and that means Rhode Islanders are about to start discarding their trees.

The state's Resource Recovery Corporation is asking that all trees be placed on the curb on their regular trash days.

No bags are needed.

Officials recommend that you check with your city or town for more details on the exact pick-up dates. Cities and towns within the state have a varied pick-up schedule.

In Pawtucket, Christmas trees will be collected throughout January on Thursdays and Fridays.

In Cranston and Warwick trees will be picked up on regular trash days during the first two weeks of January.

And in Providence, tree pickup will begin Jan. 7 and end Jan. 18.
