Man charged in connection with Lincoln hit-and-run

Police have charged a man in connection with a hit-and-run accident in Lincoln that injured a woman.

David Vierra, 50, of North Providence, was arrested and charged with duty to stop in an accident, personal injury resulting. He was released on personal recognizance.

Melissa Richmond was struck Saturday night as she crossed Front Street.

Police said Vierra was driving on Christmas Day in the area of Anna Sayles Road and Old River Road and noticed his car had damage consistent with that of the suspect vehicle.

Vierra is scheduled to appear in Providence Superior Court on March 18.
