Roads mostly clear after storm

Posted: Updated:

The morning commute should be a bit easier in Rhode Island and Massachusetts after crews worked through the night to clear up snow that fell during the latest storm.
The deteriorating conditions made for a long and miserable drive home for many people on Tuesday.

The National Weather Service had issued a winter weather advisory for all of Rhode Island Tuesday, except Block Island, and southeastern Massachusetts until 10 p.m. Tuesday.

The snow was heavy at times in the afternoon. Quick accumulations of an inch an hour are expected to create hazardous conditions for the afternoon commute.

Storm Team 10 said temperatures will slowly increase through the remainder of the week.

Some districts in Rhode Island have canceled afternoon activities or are dismissing classes early. Parking bans are in effect in some locations.

As of early Tuesday afternoon, T.F. Green Airport was reporting that most flight arrivals and departures are on time.
