A Coventry woman was charged Monday in a crash that killed a passenger in her car.
South Kingstown police said 27-year-old Amanda Lyons was arraigned in Washington County Court on charges of driving under the influence, death resulting and three drug counts. She was released on $10,000 personal recognizance.
The Traffic Tribunal temporarily suspended her license.
Police said Lyons was driving a car that crashed into a pole on Route 1 in South Kingstown on Nov. 23. Her passenger, John Balzano, 26, of Providence, was thrown from the car and killed.
Lyons is due back in court Feb. 11.
