A few more inches could hit southern New England

Posted: Updated:

The National Weather Service says more snowy weather could be on the way in southern New England, with accumulations of up to 4 inches.

The weather service says there is "moderate risk" of 2 to 4 inches of accumulations in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and parts of Connecticut on Tuesday. There is a lesser risk of 5 to 6 inches of accumulation.

NBC 10's Kelly Love says snow showers will arrive in our area but most spots won't see a whole lot of accumulation.         LOCAL FORECAST

The snow is likely to arrive after the morning commute but is expected to affect the afternoon drive.

A storm dropped a foot of snow in some parts of the Northeast over the weekend, including parts of Maine and New Hampshire.

Locally, cold temperatures turned much of the precipitation to ice, and officials are warning motorists and pedestrians to use caution on slippery surfaces.
